Black-and-Blue-and-Decker
Black-and-Blue-and-Decker

You find yourself near a small stall that has a lot of sharp things hanging on the walls. The proprietor nods to you. "Howdy there. You look like someone who'd be interested in some of my home-ma... I mean, my open road-made self-defense devices."

"Self-defense... do you mean combat items?"

"Well, yes, but naturally for legal reasons I must emphasize that all of this gear is only for self-defense, and not, for example, murder."

"Naturally."

"So, how about this: a specially-weighted hubcap with the edge sharpened. Wing this at someone -- someone who is threatening your life -- and it'll take their head right off."

"Oooh." You nod appreciatively.

"And over here I've got some caltrops made out of railroad spikes welded together. Much larger than the standard type, for extra efficiency in dealing with someone who is not watching where they're walking because they're too busy threatening your life."

"Those are certainly impressive..."

"And I've saved the best for last: I call it The Six-Pack of Pain."

"This appears to be eight empty beer bottles tied together on the end of a rope."

"That's right. Ever smash someone in the face with a beer bottle? Concussion, little bits of glass in the eyes, bleeds like crazy! Well with this, you get eight times the bang for your buck, and the rope lets you swing it from a short distance away, so you don't have to get too close to the person that's threatening your life."

"That's pretty clever," you say, impressed.

"BAM!" he says, smacking his fist into his palm for emphasis. "Right in the head! And they go down like a sack of potatoes! A sack of potatoes with shards of glass in its skull and blood spraying..."

"And this is for self-defense?"

"...and they're all like 'Eee! My eyes! Eeee!' What? Oh! Oh, yes, naturally, strictly for self-defense purposes only."

You rifle through your pockets and determine that you currently have X hobo nickels.
