The Nearby Plains is located right in the middle of the Kingdom of Loathing.

• Cobb's Knob
• The Ruins of Fernswarthy's Tower
• The Cake-Shaped Arena
• Degrassi Knoll (Unavailable to Muscle signs)

• Inside Degrassi Knoll (Open to Muscle signs only)

• The "Fun" House
• The Misspelled Cemetary
• The Cyrpt
• The Palindome (if you have a Talisman o' Nam equipped)
• A Temporal Rift or A Small, Bright Light or Scorch
• The Bat Hole
• The Beanstalk
• The Spectral Pickle Factory also appears here, but not often.

Notes

• On January 24, 2007 Fernswarthy's Tower crumbled into The Ruins of Fernswarthy's Tower, although both areas contain the same monsters.
• Upon locating Fernswarthy's grave in the course of the Wizard of Ego quest, an additional clickable location appears south of the Misspelled Cemetary:
  • A Temporal Rift leading to The Nearby Plains in the Distant Past (for ascended characters of levels 4 or 5)
  • A Small, Bright Light (for unascended characters of levels 4 or 5)
  • A Scorch (for all characters of higher levels)
• On April 1, 2008 The Spectral Salad Factory appeared in the same location The Spectral Pickle Factory infrequently occurs.
