Notes

• As stated on a Jick and Skully show (Needs Date), the male and female monsters are mechanically similiar -- stats and item drops included (e.g., the Box and Trouser Snake are, aside from text and image, the same monster).
• The Astronomer is slightly more likely to show up than the other monsters. There are two Astronomers with a rejection rate of 25%, which means that on any given adventure in this area, there is a 25% chance that an Astronomer simply will not show up, even accounting for queue effects. The Astronomer will show up 12.12% of the time, and the other 9 monsters will each show up about 9.76% of the time.

History

• The three constellations Burrowing Bishop, Skinflute and Twig and Berries were first found when The LAAAAME Observatory opened its doors on May 15, 2006.
• The alternate Ascension Encounters were created on the Tuesday update of March 28, 2007.
• Before February 18, 2013, to reach the Hole in the Sky, you needed an intragalactic rowboat, obtained by combining a S.O.C.K. with a quantum egg. The S.O.C.K. is obtained by adventuring in The Penultimate Fantasy Airship. The egg was obtained by successfully using a giant castle map, which required turning the chore wheel in The Castle in the Clouds in the Sky.
  • Older accounts that have the intragalactic rowboat do not need the steam-powered model rocketship to access the Hole.

• Apart from the Astronomer, all of the monsters' names in this area are euphemisms for the male and female genitals.
• "Hole in the Sky" may be a reference to the song "Monkey Gone to Heaven" by The Pixies or the song "hole in the sky" by Black Sabbath.
