The Gift Shop

The Gift Shop lies in Market Square. Here you can buy assorted gift items, or go into the back room to send someone a package. When you send someone a package, it need not include any items from the gift shop. If someone has multiple packages of the same type, the most recently sent package is opened first.

Welcome to The Gift Shop! You can buy a number of groovy gift items, or head into the back room to send someone a package.

With each Ascension, new gifts and packages become available. Also, while in Ronin or Hardcore, it is possible to send gifts of items that are currently stored in Hagnk's Ancestral Mini-Storage.

Notes

• When wearing Private Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Jacket, all unlockable gift shop packages (i.e. everything but the plain brown wrapper and less-than-three-shaped box) are 50% off.
• If you attempt to send more than 100 packages in one day, the Gift Shop Guy says:

You can't send more than a hundred gift packages a day. Yes, having this limit is stupid, but it's the best solution we can think of to the gift box spamming problem.

• Before NS13, a common strategy for speed ascenders was to use the high autosell value of some gift items to get more meat out of their Hagnk's pulls, much to Jick's annoyance. With NS13, the autosell value of the Gift items was reduced to 5% of their purchase price.
• Gorblax, a long-time listener to The Jick Show, has demanded that the owner of the gift shop be given a name every single week for two years. It is for this reason that the "Gift Shop Guy" does not have a name.
• During a Bad Moon run, going to the gift shop will take you directly to the back room, where you see this text: You walk into the Gift Shop, but there's nobody behind the counter, so you wander into the back room. There's nobody around back here, either, but there's a vending machine full of gift-sending supplies, in case you want to send a gift to somebody.
