The Former or the Ladder

The Former of the Ladder
The Former of the Ladder

After trudging through the muck of the sewer for a few minutes, you find a point where several tunnels converge. There's a dark tunnel leading much deeper into the sewers, and there's a hole in the floor with a rusty ladder leading straight down.

There's also the ever present unending flow of filthy sewage, if that's what you're into.

Head down the ladder

You climb down the ladder into a small, squalid chamber. In the center of the chamber sits a metal cage, and in the center of the metal cage sits your clanmate, <clanmate>.

You see the key to the cage hanging on a hook on the wall, and quickly set <clanmate> free.

  • If the cage is empty:

You climb down the ladder into a small, squalid chamber. In the center of the chamber sits an empty metal cage. You stare at it for 4 minutes and 33 seconds before getting bored and climbing back out of the sewer.

  • If someone else freed the captured clanmate before the latter selected "wait for rescue":

You climb down the ladder into a small, squalid chamber with a cage in the center. You see your clanmate <clanmate> letting your other clanmate, <clanmate>, out of the cage.

You conclude that they've got this situation pretty much under control, so you head back up the ladder and out of the sewer.

  • If you have freed the captured clanmate, and receive this adventure before the latter selected "wait for rescue":

You were just down there, and it wasn't all that cool, so you decide to stay up here for now.
