To reduce clutter in your inventory? To hide how much meat you have (by storing it in the Closet during rollover and pulling it out after your public Character page gets updated)? To provide a little bit of protection from your stuff being stolen via PvP? To prevent from accidentally using ten-leaf clovers (instead of disassembling them)?
