Talk:Wild Hare

From TheKolWiki

I've seen the Wild Hare occasionally have the message, "<name> pulls out a stop watch and winds it saying, 'it's slow by two days'" or something along those lines, I got it in addition to one of the other messages and once by itself, but I don't know if it actually did anything, can somebody tell me what happened?--Thozmp 03:20, 3 March 2006 (CST)

  • That's the "extra adventures at rollover" thing. --Ricket 04:01, 3 March 2006 (CST)

I think the Hare's strength in the arena is Scavenger Hunt, but don't have conclusive proof. (It would make sense in a way: the easter bunny hides things for people to find, so maybe the wild hare would be good at finding things?)--Nea 12:07, 3 March 2006 (CST)

I've also heard that Scavenger Hunt is the Hare's strength. It's weakness is Hide and Seek. --Crowther 17:58, 7 March 2006 (CST)

Seems to me the Wild Hare won't give you any more than three extra adventures, at least if you're on an oxycore (hardcore, perhaps?) ascension. Could anyone else confirm this, or otherwise? --Seraphidel 19:48, 2 April 2006 (CDT)

  • Seems to hold true as far as I've toyed around with it, so I'm going to put it down first; if anyone's trying it in on a softcore run, please make adjustments accordingly, if required. Cheers. --Seraphidel 02:18, 20 April 2006 (CDT)

Not too long ago, I got a boxed wine when the "Have some wine" message came up. Has this happened to anyone else, or was it most likely just a coincidence? --Skid 14:42, 10 May 2006 (CDT)

  • were you, by any chance, fighting a monster who can normally drop boxed wine? If so, definitely chalk it up to coincidence. --Hellion 14:44, 10 May 2006 (CDT)
  • Honestly, I can't remember. It hasn't happened since, so I would have to say it was a coincidence, but I was just curious as to whether it could be a rare occurence. --Skid 19:22, 12 May 2006 (CDT)
  • Hasn't happened to me as of yet, and I've pretty much kept my Wild Hare as my active familiar since it came out in March. I'll keep an eye out, though. --Seraphidel 09:38, 5 June 2006 (CDT)

The "He rubs some butter into it" part of the text you get when you lose a battle could be refering to a comic called Ctrl-Alt-Del where Ethan builds a time machine that is butter powered. Does anyone know if Jick could be referencing this, or is the butter just random.

Unlikelly, in Alice in Wonderland, the March Hare did in fact put butter on a watch, its vastlly more likely this was a reference to that, and not the comic. Oh, and sign your posts.--Rikmach 13:30, 5 June 2006 (CDT)

I did a bit of spading with the Hare. Over the course of 100 adventures, at 35 pounds the Leprechaun activated 21 times, the BGF activated 23 times, the Ghoul Whelp activated 27 times, the Volleyball activated 24 times, and for 5 adventures it did nothing.--NGWGL 19:59, 27 July 2007 (CDT)

  • Are you counting "adding an adventure to the counter" as nothing? --sl1me 07:37, 27 July 2007 (CDT)
  • I recorded 'do nothing' as doing none of the familiar actions or the watch.--NGWGL 19:59, 27 July 2007 (CDT)

[edit] Ascension

Has it ever been determined if the extra adventures carry through an ascension? If I've got an extra 60 adv post NS kill, can I use that to get me 5 more adventures on my second day next ascension? --Club 13:57, 3 November 2006 (CST)

That'd break the hare. This was tested and reported on the main forums, and no the adventures do not carry over.--MaskedLihc 01:38, 2 August 2007 (CDT)

[edit] Frequency Spading

I've been saving end-of-combat familiars for the last part of my frequency spading, since they typically require a lot more adventures. First:

Overall, there seems to be very little difference between lower weights (11 for me) and high weights (87 for me) in terms of frequency, although there are obviously pretty wide margins of error for the low sample weights. Overall:

  • Out of 873 adventures, I recorded 110 BGF actions, 209 Volleyball, 204 Ghuol Whelp, and 228 Leprechaun.
  • At weight 30, I recorded 426 adventures with 49 BGF actions, 104 volleyball, 110 Ghuol Whelp, and 106 Leprechaun.

Watch messages were not considered, as they could occur in the same adventure as any other message.--Foggy 08:57, 27 May 2008 (CDT)
