Is the Shore profitable? - sepharoth

Maybe. 70% of vacations are stat gaining adventures, so 30% are non-stat gaining. As far as I know, the Dude Ranch adventure is kind-of profitable. there are 3 item-gaining adventures, so 10-leaf clover is 10% of the time, coconut shell is 10%, and anti-cheese is 10%. Let's say you go on 10 vacations. Theoretically, you would get 1 ten-leaf clover, 3- coconut shells, 1 anticheese, and 7 stat gaining adventures, costing 5000 meat. You can sell the clover for 3750 meat, the coconut shells for about 1000 meat each, anticheese for about 500 meat (I think), so you would get a profit of 1750 meat, for 30 adventures. Not worth it, compared to farming in the castle, unless you want high stat gains to go with it. I'm not sure how much the items from the other locations cost, so I can't tell you much about that. --Coolguy00001 (t|c) 10:57, 18 February 2007 (CST)

Hardcore run, DB, level 11 10 runs per day for as long as I can afford it or until 100 trials.

  • Is the amount of moxie you receive based on level, base moxie, buffed moxie? It seems to be about .4-.6 substat gained per Moxie point, but we need more data. Please record your level, base Moxie, buffed moxie, and substat points gained. Maybe someone could whip up a table, maybe?--Mustard 10:42, 6 September 2006 (CDT)
    • The amount of substats you receive is based on your raw mainstat (regardless of which stat you are receiving). I will post a few thousand trips' worth of info when I get home. This has been well known for a while, I'm surprised it's not here on the Wiki already. --Hellion 17:09, 6 September 2006 (CDT)

Reference for the Muscle vacation?

I thought the name or adventures could be based of the nickalodeon show Hey Dude, I didn't put too much thought or time into it. So incase someone wanted to check it out. (I know about dude ranches so please dont bring that up)--Ice Jedi5 17:47, 7 September 2006 (CDT)--

Meat Drops

When I took a vacation at the Large Donkey Mountain Ski Resort, as well as two abominable snow cones, I received 304 meat. I noticed that the wiki didn't have meat drops listed so I reported it here. It probably changed with NS13, however, being near the stort of an oxycore run, I am currently broke and cannot check more.--Dfinlay 18:50, 17 July 2007 (CDT)

  • Yeah, I noticed that too. I think i got over 400 meat from that.--RPGMarker35 18:55, 17 July 2007 (CDT)

Stat Days

Does anyone know if the stat gains are affected by stat days?--Gnomesquid 19:25, 15 November 2007 (CST)

Every 30?

Is there further verification on the spacing of 30 adventures between runs equaling a combat item? On a current Bad Moon run, my first shore trip was on turn 319 three turns so that should end on 321. My next was on 352 ended on 354. Both turned out for stats, and the second one was Roadblocker, not Bang for dynamite. --Kaelis 08:52, 12 July 2008 (CDT)

  • Are you adventuring in places that don't call adventure.php/shore.php? Or cooking/tending/smithing? I recall reading something to the effect that that would affect the counter, but I haven't kept careful track myself. --Bagatelle 12:41, 12 July 2008 (CDT)
    • The adventure progression went 319-321 Shore for Muscle, 322-323(2 adventures) Beanbats for beans, which were cooked into burritos, but with a chef so no adventures, 324-325 Elbow(2 adventures), 326-331 Heart(6 adventures), 332-333 Beanbat(2 adventures), 334-335 Heart(2 adventures), 336-351 Neck(16 adventures). That appears to be 30 adventures exactly, and to my knowledge, all those areas use adventure.php. The Shore trip was taken on 352-354, also for muscle. Perhaps it has to be for a different stat? --Kaelis 07:13, 13 July 2008 (CDT)
      • The original spading thread doesn't have a whole lot of logs, but it looks like they have examples of consecutive same-stat items. There's even a post with different-stat gaps which failed, so maybe it's probabilistic depending on the size of the gap. You may be better of at this point doing some digging yourself or asking the original finders in the AFH thread. --Bagatelle 14:22, 13 July 2008 (CDT)
        • It might also be an example of where a mechanic changes in BM. I would be surprised if they actually made it harder to get these items in bad moon, given how they've generally tried NOT to screw you out of ascension-necessary items in BM, but I suppose it's possible. --Flargen 14:31, 13 July 2008 (CDT)
          • I just did the obligatory 5 shore trips (one after the other) to receive the dingy plans in a BM ascension. In those 5 trips I received 2 anticheese, 2 sticks of dynamite and 1 stat adventure. It's probably all down to the RNG, but it does suggest that BM shore trips are no worse than non-BM ones.--Thumbtack 13:42, 20 July 2008 (CDT)
