Talk:Teddy Bear

From TheKolWiki

This, as the hatchling item it came from, is a rather straightforward reference to the Super Nintendo RPG game Earthbound. The main character could purchase a Teddy Bear who would take damage for him in battle, eventually being whipped into a pile of fluff. --Tenebrys 23:22, 24 December 2005 (Central Standard Time)

When I used the Teddy Bear I noticed when it intercepted the attack it lost a pound of it's weight... or it appeared to. Can anyone confirm or disprove this? -Nate Pyrokai

I think that it loses a certain amount of EXP...possibly based on the amount of damage it received? We need to look at this.--digitrev 00:31, 28 December 2005 (Central Standard Time)

Just noticed the Crimbo familiars had haikus, and updated their pages with them.--Hogulus 19:19, 3 January 2006 (Central Standard Time)

The equipment adds pounds? I have a 2 pound teddy bear, and leash of linguini active, a TPF and the equipment, but the display read 8 pounds. Is it hidden? if not, the page needs an edit.--FireyFlame 14:36, 14 January 2006 (Central Standard Time)

The Notes I posted where what I experienced when I posted them. I just ascended and cannot retest my experience yet, but I will when I get the chance. Do any of ya'll the Teddy Bear and Sewing Kit? If so, post your weights for each of the 3 (no buffs, lead necklace and sewing kit) and we can look at some data! MrFurry 04:33, 29 January 2006 (Central Standard Time)

My familiar is 7lbs (51 kills) unbuffed. With the lead necklace the weight is 10lbs and with the sewing kit the weight remains 7lbs. I don't think the kit adds any weight. Still trying to figure out how effective the kit is in reducing the amount of stuffing that is knocked out. --Beardedrobot 08:37, 31 January 2006 (Central Standard Time)

OK, out of Ronin. My Teddy Bear is 1lb unbuffed. Currently 6lbs due to Empathy. 9lbs with lead necklace, and 6lbs with sewing kit. VERY weird. It did not work that way before. Or else I am losing faster than I thought! I did email Jick about my findings when I put up the Notes section, perhaps it was a bug with a new item, and he fixed it.

Formula

Any ideas to spade the exp loss formula?

Some very, very basic spading for now. But hey, it's a start! --TechSmurf 02:57, 8 November 2009 (UTC)
