Changes

There some be some sort of warning that because of the new changes, there are not nearly as many non-combats as before.

Naming

  • Should this be renamed to "Outskirts of The Knob" as one of its images says or is there an image icon I'm missing somewhere.--Dehstil (t|c) 15:18, 13 July 2006 (CDT)
  • The last adventure link is "The Outskirts of Cobb's Knob", inside the knob image says "Outskirts of The Knob", when inside the knob is not available yet, the image calls it "Cobb's Knob" (before "Go Inside Cobb's Knob"). So it's just inconsistent. I *think* we have been going by the images, but some last adventure links are different (longer, shorter, capitalized differently, or totally different). It's a mess ;-) So no matter what we pick, we are always partly wrong. Blame Jick and his mom. --JRSiebz (|§|) 15:41, 13 July 2006 (CDT)
  • Well, once you can go inside, the image from there is also "Outskirts of The Knob" and naming it simply "Cobb's Knob" would be bad, so I guess this gets moved too.--Dehstil (t|c) 16:45, 13 July 2006 (CDT)

When Rocks Attack

tree.gif As you're wandering through the outskirts of Cobb's Knob, you hear a faint whisper from behind a tree. You go to the tree to investigate, and discover a wounded Knob Goblin guard, resting against the trunk, breathing heavily.

"Adventurer!" gasps the guard, wincing. "You... you have to help me. I stubbed my toe, really, really hard, and I don't... I don't think I'm going to make it unless somebody brings me some medicine. Will you... will you help me?"

"Sure, I'll help." :

"Sure, I'll help," you reply, "but what kind of medicine do you need?" "Go into Seaside... Seaside Town," says the guard, "and visit Doc... Doc Galaktik's Medicine Show. His Pungent Unguent should fix... should fix me right up.

It costs 30 Meat. Use... use this." meat.gif You gain 30 Meat.

Upon returning with the pungent ungent:

You go back to the tree where the wounded Knob Goblin guard was resting, and find him just where you left him, continuing to whine about his stubbed toe. "Here you go, tough guy" you say, and hand him the unguent.

"You're... you're a lifesaver," he says, reaching into his pocket. "Take this as a... as a thank you. It'll make you tough like... like me."

Encryption key

I received it at level 3, before the Council gave me the quest. The page currently says that the adventure occurs during the quest. --Cara Carabowditbowdit 11:59, 4 July 2007 (CDT)

Very top paragraph -- incorrect?

It currently reads, "The Outskirts of Cobb's Knob, located in The Nearby Plains, is the first area the Toot Oriole tells new adventurers to go to."

The Toot Oriole sends a brand new character to the council (after he's finished w/ them) and on an ascension, he doesn't really send one anywhere. So (outskirts of) Cobb's Nob is open, but not mentioned by him as far as I can tell from the ascension I just did tonight. (The Gourd headed me there.) --Hallehoopma 23:49, 6 January 2008 (CST)
