Talk:Naughty paper shuriken
From TheKolWiki
I'm unsure about the stunning effect, but it seems to only occur if your opponent has a pants drop. It then stuns them indefinitely, since I did it the first round and then stasised it for 30 rounds without being attacked, although this may be a bug, after 4 rounds it stopped saying it was tangled in its pants and instead just didn't attack.--Skolor 23:16, 31 January 2008 (CST)
You must have been in an area where your moxie was high enough to avoid getting hit. We (my girlfriend and I) just tested it in the "below decks" section of the pirate's cove, and after the 3 rounds of entanglement, we got thumped for 40 damage on round 4.

- I thought so, it may have just been a bug since I was using a stasis method. What I got was different though, it stunned for 4/5 rounds (with a couple of tests), and then afterwards it just didn't do anything, no message like you normally get when they fail to hit you, it just sat there.--Skolor 15:44, 1 February 2008 (CST)
Am I the only one a little worried about a Mr. Store item that can be lost through combat with the NS/Bonerdagon? --Sparksol 23:45, 31 January 2008 (CST)
- Nope. I'd definitely mention it to Jick, even if it IS a sleaze item, and thereby rather ineffectual against both. --Theogrin 00:04, 1 February 2008 (CST)
- As an addendum, is it actually not useable in hardcore/ronin like it says on the page? That'd be a first, a combat item that couldn't be used. --Sparksol 03:46, 1 February 2008 (CST)
- It's probably a mistake. Not usable in Hardcore is what we are used to, concerning Mr. Store equipment. But why should you not be able to pull it in Softcore and use it in combat? --Mr Crac 07:49, 1 February 2008 (CST)
- You can't lose this item to bosses. -MarcyRoni 18:13, 1 February 2008 (CST)
I would think the "Kowabunga" cry on the stun/pants dropping text is a reference to the (original) Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.....--Vince3 00:48, 1 February 2008 (CST)
I was using this item in the Dungeons of Doom and was definitely doing more sleaze damage than 20. I am changing it back to the previous upper bound of 30--Kjacobso 05:17, 1 February 2008 (CST)
- Do you have a v for vivala mask equipped? It adds 50% damage to combat items. Because WITH the v mask, I see a cap of 30. I'm going to try w/o for a while, and then change this back. --Wildfire393 13:30, 1 February 2008 (CST)
- You are totally right, I forgot all about that enchantment.--Kjacobso 20:06, 1 February 2008 (CST)
Probably will be changed to a one handed object like the flaming jugglers balls. Also, probably should add that it's not lost when used. --Devion 07:14, 1 February 2008 (CST)
- Why would this be changed to a one handed object? This item transforms into an offhand item and a weapon already. -MarcyRoni 18:15, 1 February 2008 (CST)
I'm 100% sure it's not usable in HC, As I tried using it on my HC acct and got the message "You can't use this item in Ronin or Hardcore."--Hetchman 12:09, 1 February 2008 (CST)
I reverted the reference that "Kowabunga" is related to Bart Simpson. Yes, he used it as a catch phrase, but as this is a shuriken, aka a "ninja star", it seems much more strongly associated with the Ninja Turtles. Of course, if there is some more specific reference to Bart, please feel free to correct me and re-add the reference with a bit more clarity. Bakapyrite 18:12, 1 February 2008 (CST)
- I would say it's related to neither (or rather, predates both, as a surfer slang term), but the fact that it's a ninja star probably implies TMNT association. -MarcyRoni 18:16, 1 February 2008 (CST)
A post by Mr. Skullhead in the forums suggests that this has at least one additional effect beyond the pants-dropping stun and sleaze damage. My playing with it hasn't yielded anything. --Nayker 18:35, 1 February 2008 (CST)
- According to this additional post by Sir Skully [1], that additional effect would seem to be increasing pants drop rate when used on a pants-dropping monster. Now, to figure out if it's even possible to spade how much the drop rate is increased... Anyway, I'll add a note to that effect.--Salien 13:25, 12 February 2008 (CST)
Wait, what?
If the monster can drop pants you don't get the pant's drop effect? Someone confirm or change the page text. - JohnDoe244 16:48, 2 February 2008 (CST)
- Yeah, this confused me too... --A Naked Jew 20:37, 2 February 2008 (CST)
