Are we still certain that Mer-kin is not a reference to a merkin(pubic wig)? This strikes me as gross.--Markchd 22:30, 6 February 2009 (UTC)

Definite reference to 2009's recession and layoffs, perhaps? --Unnamed Hobo 04:57, 9 February 2009 (UTC)

  • My guess is that it's a reference to someone in the bar that they've been going to who was laid off due to the 2009 recessions - slight but distinct difference. --Jaolen 05:50, 9 February 2009 (UTC)
    • When people get laid off, they get depressed and proceed to go to a bar and drink the entire night.--Dudeathome 22:39, 9 February 2009 (UTC)
  • Pinkslips have been around forever and ever. Even before the before-time! Before even the birth-givers! --Flargen 23:13, 9 February 2009 (UTC)
