Nemesis?
Does the person who gave you the quest ever find the nemesis? --CG1| | | 16:25, 9 July 2007 (CDT)
Jick mentioned there being class pants at some point with NS13, I guess it's this nemesis quest that's just not yet been implemented--Falconinthedive 13:31, 20 July 2007 (CDT)
Has there been any hint of when this quest will lead people to something after they defeat the clown? It's been a while since this quest has been implemented and nothing has developed. Can anybody get information from Jick?--Poketape 10:48, 28 July 2007 (CDT)
Uh...
According to the Quest Log, the correct title for this quest is "Me and My Nemesis". --Goatee Man 19:10, 26 June 2007 (CDT)
- And the correct name for the level 12 quests is "Make War, Not... Oh, Wait", and the Mt McLargeHuge quest is "Am I my Trapper's Keeper?". Other names, however, are better to organize them by. --TechSmurf 22:57, 3 July 2007 (CDT)
I've redirected Me and My Nemesis to this page for now. If it should be reversed, well, someone else can deal with it. --Blargon 19:27, 26 June 2007 (CDT)
John Wilke is not the man referred to, as he is neither old nor wise. Moe likely would be the old man who runs the MMG. However, this doesn't seem to matter much as you still only need to visit the pre-NS13 locations to get the items referred to.--King_ofthe_Dunedain 07:45, 25 June 2007 (CDT)
It has nothing to do with John Wilke. You just need to get the big rock from the Lemon Party slot, like it was pre-NS13. --RoadLord 08:04, 25 June 2007 (CDT)
Could the other old man be the hermit? New Seal tooth and Petrified Noodles at his place. --Pi321 08:09, 25 June 2007 (CDT)
I just made my epic weapon by buying the seal tooth from the hermit and smithing it with a big rock for seal-tooth rock, then smithing it with my club for bjorn's hammer which is now +10 muscle. Then I talked with the SC in my guild (I'm a SC btw) and he said slay a clown guy at "fun" house for other ingredients.--Pi321 08:18, 25 June 2007 (CDT)
i do believe the pertinent question is how non-moxie class hardcore characters can obtain the polka-dot bowtie --Talon 08:29, 25 June 2007 (CDT)
I hear you don't need the bowtie, but I don't know how much of the outfit you do need.--EXtreme Noob 10:12, 25 June 2007 (CDT)
- For me it only worked with the foolscap fool's cap, bloody clown pants, acid-squirting flower, big red clown nose and clown shoes. It did not work without the pants or without one of the accessories. Rebrane 11:25, 25 June 2007 (CDT)
- Did using the flower change your avatar to Terrifying Clown Suit or did it just allow you to pass the door? I only get the Suit if I use the bowtie. --Jonrock 14:05, 25 June 2007 (CDT)
- I was able to do so using - balloon helmet, bloody clown pants, acid-squirting flower, big red clown nose and clown shoes. Maybe we only need 4 items & definitely not needing the full suit!--Xeno The Morph 14:11, 25 June 2007 (CDT)
- I just did it with a balloon helmet, clownskin harness, and clownskin buckler. So perhaps you only need 3?--Spades 12:22, 26 June 2007 (CDT)
- I just got the $1.99 adventure and chose to push the nose, wearing four items from the list (foolscap fool's cap, bloody clown pants, big red clown nose, and acid-squirting flower), and I didn't get to fight Beelzebozo. I don't think the game allows any four items from the list to work. Count Macantuna 20:55, 26 June 2007 (CDT)
- Pretty sure the key is, that you need 5 'clown' items. I replaced the polka dot bow tie, with a clown skin belt and it worked. It did not work when I had a baconstone ring there.--MoreCurious 04:06, 29 June 2007 (CDT)
The epic weapon for Pastamancers is called "Pasta of Peril". It is created by first smithing the petrified noodles (obtained from the hermit) with the big rock (from the lemon party slots). It becomes "Spaghetti with rock balls" which you then smith with a pasta spoon to get the epic weapon. It adds +7 mysticality and +15% combat initiative (Bonus for pastamancers only) --Valkron 11:13, 25 June 2007 (CDT)
Commenting on the old man thing. You get the rock from the Lemon Party slots, for those who have been unlucky enough to know what a Lemon Party is, you know it involves old men. Perhaps thats the old men reference? --Blargon 19:32, 26 June 2007 (CDT)
- I would highly doubt that, considering those men aren't characters in the KoL universe. Plus, I doubt TPTMBG would want to directly reference the content of... that aforementioned thing.
So has anybody found out yet what qualifies as "later" to get your nemesis's location? --Missingno 12:24, 27 June 2007 (CDT)
- I would like to know this as well. i'm a level 7 pastamancer with 44 myst and the guild STILL doesn't know the location. --Nathew 02:17, 29 June 2007 (CDT)
- I also want to know when's "later". I'm a level 10 Seal Clubber with 92 muscle!!!--InsertNameWhere 08:53, 3 July 2007 (CDT)
- ditto - I'm a Level 15 Disco Bandit with over 200 moxie -- it must be related to something other than level. Has anybody completed the other "Nemesis" quest recently, where you get the Epic Hat? That might be a place to check, I guess. --MoxyFox 14:23, 3 July 2007 (CDT)
- I believe it has been said that Riff did not write it yet. TheUberFerret 22:56, 3 July 2007 (CDT)
As far as I can tell, the acid squirting flower doesn't work as one of the 4 clown items.
- Doesn't it? I just opened the door with a clown skin belt, a balloon helmet, bloody clown pants and a clown nose. Perhaps all balloon items count?Lotusduck 13:02, 29 June 2007 (CDT)
- Maybe you can use fewer items if they're clownskin, because those require smithing, whereas you'll need more items if you're using just the plain item drops. Balloon items might also factor into this, or they might not.--MoxyFox 14:28, 3 July 2007 (CDT)
- I also couldn't get through using the acid flower but was using the clown suit. Once I switched it out for something else, all was good. The way the current page is worded is, I think, correct (the flower isn't part of the clown suit anyway) but is confusing. It may be better to say "you need *this*, or *this*", instead of (as is) "you need the Clown Suit, *or* the Clown suit, minus X, but add Y". --Degrassi 15:19, 3 July 2007 (CDT)
- I Believe there is a reference to the amount of "Clownosity" you need to get through the door on the Adventurer, $1.99 page. Possibly this should be reexplained on this page or a link in place. --Dachshund2k3 22:01, 3 July 2007 (CDT)
- Ah, that explains it. Thanks! (I'll make a link on this page to the clownosity one.) --MoxyFox 22:49, 3 July 2007 (CDT)
Quest Trigger?
Anyone know what opens up the quest? I got it after doing part 1 of "The Wizard of Ego" quest, but that could be a coincidence. --Trytoguess 17:06, 20 July 2007 (CDT)
I got this quest right after I finished my meatcar at level 3, without completing any parts of the Wizard of Ego. This could be the trigger unless someone manages to do it earlier.
-- Empyrion 02:13, 27 August 2007 (CDT)
Ruled out:
- 10 main stat (required to wear the normal epic weapon)
- "Full guild member" (without access to "cafeteria")
- Finishing meat car
- "Cafeteria" access
- 11 main stat (seems to open up Fernwarthy's key though)
- 10 secondary stat
- >25 buffed main stat
- Obtaining Fernwarthy's key
Ok, found it: 12 main stat. No idea why 12, but it's 12. Either that or 30 buffed, but I'll have to test with a different char to rule that out. Ruled out. 11 main stat opens up Fernwarthy's key, 12 main stat opens up legendary epic.

Hardcore / Bad moon?
Is it even possible to complete this quest if you're aiming for Bad Moon? BM rules out use of ten-leaf clovers, and AFAIK you can only get the big rock by using a clover.
- instead of a ten leaf cloer you get a big rock when starting hardcore, maybe for this quest specifically? Read the badmoon ascension.**
As far as I can tell, you cannot finish this quest on a pre-bad moon ascension, but _in_ the bad moon ascension you do get the big rock so you can finish it then.
Do Epic Weapons Disappear?
My character had a novice Disco Bandit run, of course without completing the Nemesis quest, and now is doing a second Disco Bandit run in Hardcore. Hangk's does not have her Shagadelic Disco Banjo or any of its earlier forms. Are epic weapons taken away upon ascension, or upon Hardcore ascension?
Edit: Thanks, Itsatrap, for confirming this for me. --k4f 22:00, 12 September 2008 (UTC)
- Legendary epic weapons (like the Shagadelic Disco Banjo) are marked as Quest Items and disappear upon ascension. Standard epic weapons (like the Disco Banjo) should still be available from Hagnk's (with the usual restrictions). --Itsatrap 22:06, 12 September 2008 (UTC)
