Talk:In Tuna

From TheKolWiki

Either this or Less Vincible seems to give 2-3 MP points per adventure --GothicWonder 22:00, 2 April 2008 (GMT)

This definitley give extra MP per adventure. My limited spading indicates a gain of 4-5 MP per adventure, but that was only 10 turns with the effect, so more or less MP might possibly be gained. I think it also activates on noncombats, but my fish broke so I can't get anymore turns today to confirm it.--Spanky McSpankenheim 18:44, 2 April 2008 (CDT)

Could the effect name "In Tuna" be a reference to that old cartoon "I Love to Singa"? The one that goes "I love to sing-a, about the moon-a, and the June-a, and the spring-a, I love to sing-a, 'bout the sky of blue-a, or a tea for two-a," etc etc. Or is it just a phonetic coincidence that "In Tuna" reminded me of "two-a", since it's also supposed to be a singing anthropomorphic freak of nature? More info on the song in question. [1] --TW 02:18, 15 April 2008 (CDT)

Ran ten turns of In Tuna today, after making sure to take off my party hat (and other +MP items). MP gain I received: +5, +4, +3, +4, +5, +5, +5, +4, +3, +4. Updated the article accordingly. --Terion 05:50, 5 May 2008 (CDT)

I got exactly 1 MP per turn spent with this effect going. Either everyone else had other sources of MP regen they forgot about, they've nerfed the effect recently, or the amount regnerated depends on exactly how/where you spend the adventures. I spent them cocktailcrafting (non-location adventures). --Flargen 14:50, 25 May 2008 (CDT)

  • Hm. Player level? --Bagatelle 15:10, 25 May 2008 (CDT)
    • I was level 5 at the time. --Flargen 15:12, 25 May 2008 (CDT)
    • Come to think of it, I'm pretty sure I was wearing a chef's hat at the time, so I was actually getting 0 MP per adventure. So it seems this effect doesn't trigger except for certain scripts like adventure.php. Wasn't this a bug with some previous regenerating items? I seem to remember something exactly like this before. I know the Feelin' Philosophical effect regenerates on all spent adventures, even cocktailcrafting. --Flargen 15:15, 25 May 2008 (CDT)
      • I don't think it's a bug, more like "on purpose." From Maximizing Your MP Regeneration, the tongue/cupcake effects seem to be only post-combat, as is one of the booze effects. --Bagatelle 15:24, 25 May 2008 (CDT)
        • It could be on purpose, but the tongue regen has a specific message that goes along with the restore, whereas in tuna and feelin' philosophical have no message. They're just a flat regen, like the pork gem regeneration or the chef's hat. I believe it was the pork gems that weren't regenerating for every adventure that they were supposed to, come to think of it. In that case I believe Jick and Co. said they simply hadn't gotten around to adding things like the barrels to the code. --Flargen 15:32, 25 May 2008 (CDT)
