Talk:Half-Eaten Brain

From TheKolWiki

I was fighting in the Defiled Alcove when a Corpulent zobmie got the jump on me, giving me a decent amount of spooky damage (I have my ML way up) and 5 turns of this effect. I'm not sure what it does, but at least I know one way it's obtained. Do any other zobmies give this effect? Kantania 20:06, 6 March 2007 (CST)

  • Went from 42 buffed/32 base myst without the effect to 36 buffed/32 base with it. Kantania 20:18, 6 March 2007 (CST)

I got this from a Conjoined Zmombie, about mid-fight (10 turns). I also currently have Tetanus, so I couldn't really tell how my stats were affected, sorry.--Puppy528 20:57, 6 March 2007 (CST)

It's 20%. My mysticality is 174 (217), and I removed all equipment/effects. Also, I got it for 5 turns.--TechSmurf 20:43, 6 March 2007 (CST)

I would be very disappointed if the mind flayer didn't give this effect as well... --Quietust (t|c) 20:52, 6 March 2007 (CST)

I'm using semi-statis in undefiled cyrpt at the moment. So far, I'm not hit when my brain is already half eaten, but as soon as the effect is gone, first hit I get it again. Anybody able to disprove that it doesn't stack (so you can't get it for 12 turns f.e.).--MoreCurious 07:59, 8 March 2007 (CST)

Did some more testing, I'm pretty sure it works like this:

  • You get a disease (same for tetanus) for say 10 rounds.
  • If you remove the effect artificially, you won't get it again for the remaining 9 rounds
  • First hit after the duration is over, you get it again.

I tried that a few minutes ago.

  • On my first encounter with a zmobie, I acquired a Half-Eaten Brain for 5 Adventures.
  • I spent the 5 rounds adventuring (I'm a Seal Clubber, so I don't care that much about the reduced myst)
  • On my next encounter with a zmobie with an intact brain, nothing happened. Same thing happened the next fights against zmobies.

Maybe there's some kind of (temporary?) immunity to this effect? --Yuumi 09:10, 22 March 2007 (CDT)

I'm not sure if this is actually happening, but I've consecutively retained 99MP from my original 117MP after receiving this effect. After unequipping everything I had 78MP with the effect. After adventuring in the Dire Warren to adventure off the effect and getting my club on, I went up to 94MP and to my original Mysticality level. I think this should be looked into for a 25%- in MP points. --raeschism 09:19, 20 January 2008 (CST)

  • When your myst drops you know that your MP drops with it, right? And without any additional information I really can't say since you only gave MP values. To get a better answer we need your Myst and your class. --Chunky_boo 20:22, 20 January 2008 (CST)

Reference

  • I'm not sure how accurate it is to say that the description references Lateralization of brain function as "over-simplistic." Arithmetic functions tend to be localized in the left hemisphere of the brain, and creative ones in the right hemisphere, so I think that should be removed. Froodian 00:04, 21 March 2007 (CDT)
