You know I really hate the traders who profit off this stuff so here's what I've learned to get the gems. Smashing 100+ of an item which yields a lot of elemental nuggets/wads gets you the gems. For the sapphire I smashed 100+ toy space helmets and got that along with the a amethyst. The amethyst I got from smashing 100+ furry pants. I got the stench damage gem from smashing 100+ glowing red eyes.

Well, after smashing 100+ toy space helmets, I can not confirm that it drops. Nor smashing 100 furry pants, nor 400 glowing red eye. I only have the pulverize ability right now, not a Seal clubber. Maybe it happens with just the Malus? JoltCola 19:36, 1 July 2007 (CDT)

I got 2 steamy rubies from smashing 100+ glowing red eyes, without having the Malus.

Tried it using the round purple sunglasses (7) that the Unearthly onyx is supposed to come from, and first time I tried it I was having the pulverize greasemonkey script going. I am guessing it was nerfing the ability, as I tried it again without the greasemonkey script and it worked. I can confirm that at least the 7 purple sunglasses gives me a glacial Sapphire. It will be in my DC in a few. Hint, remember to turn off any greasemonkey scripts that play with pulverize :P 2 Mil meat in testing down the drain. JoltCola 19:48, 1 July 2007 (CDT)

I got mine after pulverizing about 20 round purple sunglasses. My guess is that it's a 1% or so chance upon pulverizing an item that gives at least one wad?--Pieces 02:34, 2 July 2007 (CDT)

After smashing 53 pairs of distressed denim pants, I got 35 clusters of twinkly nuggets, 21 clusters of cold nuggets, 25 clusters of sleaze nuggets, 23 twinkly wads, 30 cold wads, 24 sleaze wads, a glacial sapphire, and a tawdry amethyst.
