Caustic acid
It says as ability: attacks opponent. It should mention the dripping of acid onto opponents. Has it been conclusively proved what this does? --Superiority 00:13, 2 Jul 2005 (Central Daylight Time)
- To my knowledge, it is unknown what it does. My personal theory is that it does absolutely nothing, but I don't know. --Aardvark 01:01, 2 Jul 2005 (Central Daylight Time)
- Well, I think we're all pretty clear at this point that it lowers accuracy, possibly evasion? --Banjooie 10:40, 16 August 2005 (PST)
- The most likely scenario (based on other effects) is that the acid reduces the level of the opponent by some amount, probably for a single turn. --Snickles 00:49, 17 Aug 2005 (Central Daylight Time)
- I'm gonna disagree with that, if only because it took a few drippings of caustic juice for the NS to stop hitting me. --Banjooie 12:40, 17 Aug 2005 (PST)
- I know it reduces the damage your enemy can do to you, but don't know if it's a flat damage reduction, a level reduction, or whatever. I also believe it IS cumulative. Seems we're not going to agree easily! :-) --Pcentella 19:37, 19 Aug 2005 (Central Daylight Time)
- Cumulative is probably the case, if you guys see evidence of that. The only times I've ever used the GPoaS was against the NS, and I hadn't noticed a cumulative effect there. However, my handful of examples is hardly authoritative. --Snickles 19:49, 19 Aug 2005 (Central Daylight Time)
- The NS tends to dispel the GPoaS juice as soon as it lands on her (though not always), so it's hard to notice with her. :-) It was highly noticeable against the Cloud Giants for example, when I was a TT. Still, I dont know the pickle's exact mechanics. --Pcentella 20:15, 19 Aug 2005 (Central Daylight Time)
- Maybe take one of these out for a spin with a Detective Skull to see if the juice does damage? I tend to think it has some affect on foes, as it certainly made the NS a lot easier for me (then again, my sample is 1, so...). --Mr. Blonde 02:29, 29 Sep 2005 (MDT)
Damage range? Lotusduck 07:44, 12 April 2006 (CDT)
I've found over 100 tests at 25 lbs, the range is 18-32, average 25.3684. Here are my trials(J means it displayed the "___ drips caustic juice on your opponent"):

43 DELEVEL
--McDutchy 16:50, 14 July 2006 (CDT)
Mine is doing 8 damage every turn at weight 1 on Baron von Ratsworth.--EtzHadaat 13:11, 28 July 2006 (CDT)
Delevelling Data
This was a little tricky, as the pickle was ripping apart my opponents before getting good delevelling data.
I tested at weights 1, 6, 7, 8, 9, 17, and 18. At 18, I got both 6 and 1 delevelling, which suggests 1 is the baseline. But I would like to test this out at a much higher weight.

Success Rate
Did some spading related to how often the familiar attacks.

- Pound 2: 136 attempts, 44 delevel, 41 hit, 51 miss
- Pound 3: 161 attempts, 52 delevel, 58 hit, 51 miss
- Pound 4: 225 attempts, 81 delevel, 62 hit, 82 miss
- Pound 5: 241 attempts, 79 delevel, 80 hit, 82 miss
- Pound 6: 254 attempts, 92 delevel, 95 hit, 67 miss
- Pound 7: 259 attempts, 76 delevel, 109 hit, 74 miss
- Pound 8: 289 attempts, 95 delevel, 118 hit, 76 miss
- Pound 9: 334 attempts, 126 delevel, 119 hit, 89 miss
- Pound 10: 336 attempts, 110 delevel, 139 hit, 87 miss
- Pound 11: 336 attempts, 121 delevel, 146 hit, 69 miss
- Pound 12: 341 attempts, 121 delevel, 156 hit, 64 miss
- Pound 13: 356 attempts, 135 delevel, 155 hit, 66 miss
- Pound 14: 355 attempts, 118 delevel, 171 hit, 66 miss
- Pound 15: 365 attempts, 127 delevel, 171 hit, 67 miss
- Pound 16: 350 attempts, 116 delevel, 189 hit, 45 miss
- Pound 17: 355 attempts, 119 delevel, 190 hit, 46 miss
- Pound 18: 369 attempts, 130 delevel, 193 hit, 46 miss
- Pound 19: 374 attempts, 121 delevel, 197 hit, 56 miss
- Pound 20: 748 attempts, 254 delevel, 388 hit, 106 miss
- Pound 26: 274 attempts, 101 delevel, 173 hit, 0 miss
- Pound 30: 165 attempts, 53 delevel, 112 hit, 0 miss
Deleveling seems to stay within the 1/3 range. Success rates for attacks were weird, but the formula on the main page should give the proper rate.--Foggy 13:21, 5 February 2008 (CST)
Pickles and chefstaves
Like the Spooky Pirate Skeleton, I removed the note about jiggling Chefstaves preventing familiars from acting; my Pickle both attacked and deleveled while I jiggled. After that, I checked out the hook while the DJ revolved it. --Johnny Treehugger 15:57, 30 December 2008 (UTC)
