Talk:Garbage Fire

Here are some raw data from my recent trip to the Cake-shaped Arena with my 14-lb. Garbage Fire (GF). First of all, I did not get any messages indicating that GF was unsuited for any event. That met my expectation of a familiar-of-the-year.

Against a 15-lb Mosquito:

  • Cage Match, Average. Results: 16, 15, 15, 17, 17; 0 wins
  • Scavenger Hunt, Weak. Results: 23-23, 26-24, 25-21, 26-22 (GF leveled up), 25-22; 5 wins
  • Obstacle Course, Strong. Results: 187-183, 188-182, 189-182, 187-182, 189-182; 0 wins

Against a 16-lb Levitating Potato (recall GF is 15 lb now):

  • Scavenger Hunt, Weak. Results: 28-22, 26-24, 24-23 (GF leveled up), 26-23, 26-24; 5 wins
  • Obstacle Course, Average. Results: 187-183, 189-184, 189-183, 186-185, 185-183; 0 wins
  • Hide and Seek, Strong. Results: 43-51, 43-48, 41-49, 45-48, 42-49; 0 wins

I think GF had the advantage over the 1-lb heavier Mosquito in Scavenger Hunt, so GF is at least Average there. GF did terrible against a Levitating Potato of the same weight in Obstacle Course, so I'm thinking Weak. Hide and Seek, Average at best. Cage Match, Average at best.

Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong on any conclusions. This is my first time trying to spade a new familiar's Arena performance.

More data. I used a gnawed-up dog bone to bring the GF up to 21 lb and challenged the 16 lb Levitating Potato to Hide and Seek again. Results: 49-50, 48-48, 48-47, 49-47, 47-49; 3 wins. If they're evenly matched, then the Potato's adjusted weight of 16+3=19 must be near GF's adjusted weight, so GF's bonus is -3 and GF is Weak at Hide and Seek.

More data: Now my GF is 17 lb without the gnawed-up dog bone, so I challenged the 15 lb Mosquito to Cage Match (Average). This time, GF won 2 out of 5 fights. Not quite conclusive. I tried again with GF being 18 lb (3 lb advantage). Again, GF won only 2 of 5 fights. Since the win probability should be 96% with a 3 lb advantage, and it's not, the GF can't be Average at Cage Match; it must be Weak.

My conclusions:

  • Cage Match: Weak
  • Scavenger Hunt: Average or Strong (needs more data)
  • Obstacle Course: Weak
  • Hide and Seek: Weak
