Talk:Frosty's arm

From TheKolWiki

Is this a rare drop? Or is there some mechanism as to how to make it drop? My clan's beat Frosty 9 times and no arm. In case it matters, the strategy my clan is using is to try to NOT speed it up, but rather spend as many turns as possible to get nickels.--Shademaster00 22:47, 18 September 2008 (UTC)

I've gotten two(not at the same time, obviously) without making any special effort(aside from loot lyric, eyedrops, blue snowcone, gnomish observation, disco bandit looting passive) that I know of - it may just be random. The first dropped when Frosty was killed as soon as possible, and the second when he was killed shortly before the final showdown(if he wasn't the last boss killed, he was next to last.)--Noskilz 02:30, 19 September 2008 (UTC)

My clan has 3. I have gotten 2 / 3 to drop for myself. I had around a 300% drop rate. However some of the runs I have had a bigger drop rate, yet received nothing. The details I think are it has dropped every 6th run. So the first one we got one to drop. The 7th run I got one to drop ( which another clanmate got ) then the 13th run I got another one to drop. Never more then 3 people ran through the area when it dropped. The first time one person went through and defeated 411 cold hobos. 2nd time I deafeated 179 cold hobos and got it to drop, and a total of 399 3rd time I only deafeated 158 for a total of 355 killed.

I think it drops every 6th run and only if your drop rate is > 300% --Paintedtoenail

20 arms in 80 runs. Sorry paintedtoe, you're wrong.--Alabit 02:46, 22 February 2009 (UTC)

Alright then ... Our clan has the same 5 people through Hobopolis each run. How many go through on your runs? Maybe the more people through , the more it drops? --Paintedtoenail 17:48, 23 February 2009 (UTC)

five runs by myself, two arms. never as much as 300% drops. problem here is that we have very small data sets. pooling, anyone? --Evilkolbot 19:58, 23 February 2009 (UTC)

  • I'd be game, but the real problem here is that there are so many potential variables. People in the run? People in Exposure Esplanade? Turncount of EE? yodel/CLUE/icicle count? Side-zone "level" as it were? I'd be more than happy to post data from my clan, but unless we get hundreds of runs of data posted i see no way to pick out which possible variable has an effect, if at all. Not to mention I don't have recorded data for +item when bossfighting, if that matters. Then there's always the chance that somebody already did the math somewhere(hco/afh) and i'm just oblivious.--Alabit 23:29, 23 February 2009 (UTC)
