Talk:Familiars by type
From TheKolWiki
Purpose
I hated not knowing which familiar gave me item drops, so I made this page. Please edit it so it's correct, for I'm sure I botched it bad.--R3nh03k 01:17, 13 February 2006 (Central Standard Time)
- I'll try something. --NewZorkBat 04:44, 13 February 2006 (Central Standard Time)
- That was rubbish, this one is better. --NewZorkBat 04:40, 15 February 2006 (Central Standard Time)
- Damn fine table. Good enough, in fact, for it's own page! Also, linked from the primary familiars category page. Nice work, NewZorkBat! --R3nh03k 15:12, 17 February 2006 (Central Standard Time)
- Thanks :) I'll delete it here then! --NewZorkBat 03:20, 18 February 2006 (Central Standard Time)
Killer Bee
- Why is the Killer Bee in the stat gain section? --Suraimu 21:01, 12 March 2006 (CST)
- It occasionally gives you Muscle substat points in the form of a royal jelly injection. --IMJack 23:05, 12 March 2006 (CST)
Sleazy Gravy Fairy
- By any chance, has anyone confirmed yet wha the Sleazy Gravy Fairy does? Seems inappropriate to keep it in "Unknown" if it *is* known. I'd do it myself, excepting I don't have one to test.--Rikmach 15:52, 2 May 2006 (CDT)
Confusing
This article doesn't know the difference between "Gives you an item" and "Makes enemies drop items". Sort of like the difference between a Ninja Pirate Zombie Robot's toast and the Baby Gravy Fairy's effect. This needs to be fixed. --Someone Else 15:14, 10 July 2006 (CDT)
- The has been taken care of... well, a while ago now, but just saying. --TheDotGamer 09:56, 15 April 2007 (CDT)
Baby Yeti - Starfish type?
Having used a Yeti occasionally through my Doppelshifter runs, it appears to me that the Yeti does either damage or restores MP. This doesn't really seem to be a "starfish type." Is there something else I'm missing about the Yeti that would make it fit in this category? If not, we should remove it from the Starfish family. --Lxndr 10:51, 14 April 2007 (CDT)
Combat damage cleanup
Can we just leave a note that, if the formula indicates fractional damage, it's rounded down? That's more readable and understandable than having the floor function applied to every single formula. The very few exceptions can then use the ceil() function. If there's no objection in a couple of days I'll go ahead and do this.
Additionally, it would be nice to either have color codes or a separate column for elemental damage. Thoughts on this? --Starwed 10:58, 14 April 2007 (CDT)
- As for the generally rounding down, I have no objection to removing them all and just noting it. As for the color codes with elemental damage, I agree, and it is easy to use {{element}} to do just what you're asking. --TheDotGamer 09:56, 15 April 2007 (CDT)
- Should the explicit mention of what type of damage it is be left, or is the color coding enough? --Starwed 11:54, 15 April 2007 (CDT)
- I'm not sure. I think it would look kind of strange if it wasn't there, but then again, maybe not. It really depends on how it's implemented I suppose. It doesn't really matter to me, as long as there is some color coding and consistency. --TheDotGamer 12:50, 15 April 2007 (CDT)
I went ahead and cleaned up the table a bit, removing the floor functions and using the element template where appropriate. It could still be more readable (there are a lot of repeated formulas, for instance) but I think it's a bit better now. :) --Starwed 22:09, 19 April 2007 (CDT)
'Notes' Column
'Notes' column in "Familiars By Type" could include other abilities the familiar has, apart from the ability it's classified under e.g. 'Notes' column of the Casagnova Gnome under 'Increases meat drop' would also tell the reader it also increases item drops, and vice versa.--Amazing 12:18, 5 October 2008 (UTC)
