I got one!
Messages:

No apparent arena weaknesses, but I haven't gotten some equipment to drop yet.--Foggy 10:53, 9 February 2008 (CST)
How'd you get? Reveal your secrets! --Devion 11:04, 9 February 2008 (CST)
Can't find a weakness in the arena here either, but 30 turns and no eq. Guessing it doesn't have any :/ --Denarius 12:26, 11 February 2008 (CST)
- "NO BEFUNO BUGACHA" means "No function <something>". You can insert cards into it. I inserted the "attack" card, and it gave me a message to the effect of "Function chosen: attack". In the next few combats, it said this: "Got says "TAFU: STALA PUNOK BUGACHA, BEBU GACHOKUZ FUCHANOKCHA." as it fires a beam of energy at your opponent, dealing 26 damage."
It's "No function selected". You can tell if you have the translator equipped. --Nigglywigget 13:43, 9 February 2008 (CST)
Check your inventory, as centain punchcards will now have "[insert into drone]" link - at the moment I can see 97,115,129 so tagged. 129 seems to be a weapon buff of some kind(Mysterian says "TARGET: ICE SICKLE SELECTED. BUFF PROTOCOL INITIALIZING." as a beam of energy arcs out of it and into your ice sickle - but I can't really see any obvious change and there is no extra multi-turn effect added.) ----Noskilz 14:01, 9 February 2008 (CST)
- The "buff" function unfortunately does not grant an actual buff. It appears to increase the damage dealt that round. --Wildfire393 14:15, 9 February 2008 (CST)
- I'm having trouble nailing down the range on the "repair" function. At 19 pounds I've seen as low as 16 HP restored, and as high as 60. --Wildfire393 13:58, 9 February 2008 (CST)
WOW.. it takes ALOT to get this familiar. Gotta first have at minimum of 2 power spheres and a trapezoid. Then you gotta fight enough bots to get the cards you need and have one TRANSFORM your sphere. Then you gotta have one build you a drone, then that drone needs to be tranformed like 4 times. Finally you put those 2 pieces together and get the Familiar, then he eats punch cards too? That's a crazy crazy number of adventures to get and maintain this Familiar. that said I've almost gone mine!
--Blaketerry 14:20, 9 February 2008 (CST)
- To summarise this familiar's effects:
- No card: Acts like a Pet Rock
- BUFF card: Increases attack power(?)
- REPAIR card: Heals like a Ghuol Whelp
- BUILD card: Blocks like a Potato
- MODIFY card: Delevels like a Barrrnacle
- ATTACK card: Attacks like a Lime
- It has been hinted that the complete El Vibrato Outfit can be used to greatly increase this familiar's level - presumably by using the Machinations button and/or the outfit's own card slot.KiraBounce 14:23, 9 February 2008 (CST)
Any try inserting a strange shiny disc. The Man's between me and the pirates. Spudster42 6:31, 9 Febuary 2008 (EST)

- Is the card inserted permanent? Or does it run out after a while (like a chameleon or hobo)? --Shademaster00 18:54, 9 February 2008 (CST)
- Yeah that's what i was wondering
They don't seem to run out...I've had mine on modify for close to 400 adventures now.--Foggy 07:40, 11 February 2008 (CST)
Do the effects last even after ascending or does this familiar just become completely useless while in hardcore? Haruki_Jitsunin 12:10, 11 February 2008 (CST)
So does the card continue to work after rollover? or do you have to put in new card each ay, much like how the helmet works?--Mike 23:38, 11 February 2008 (CST)
With a 97 card inserted, tried 3 adventures, 2 of it had this message (i have translator on):
<name> says "TARGET: EL VIBRATO ENERGY SPEAR SELECTED. BUFF PROTOCOL INITIALIZING." as a beam of energy arcs out of it and into your El Vibrato energy spear.
P.S. HOw do i find the strength or weakness of the fammiliar in the arena, will messages tell me about it? Does this fammiliar have no Fammiliar specific equipment? I won 3 prizes from the arena and both of them were lead necklaces

The Buff Function
I need to do the actual spading (which I probably won't be able to do for a while) but the increase damage thing is sick...it appears to add double the weight of the familiar to your damage. Right now, I'm playing through the battlefield as an accordion thief. My Moxie is high enough to hit, but my muscle is too low to do a whole lot of damage. When the familiar does not act, I'm hitting between for between 30 and 40. When my 51-pound familiar buffs the weapon, it goes up to between 130 and 140. (At 30, it was between 90 and 100).
There may be more variables...I'm using a bottle-rocket crossbow, dual-wielded. I'd be interested in seeing how other items stack up as well. But given in its upper limit, you'd be talking a familiar that could do an extra 300 points of damage on any given turn. Yikes!--Foggy 08:40, 15 February 2008 (CST)
megadrone spading (attack)
I did a run from 6 to 14 pounds (using a Turtle Tamer with Amphibian), then boosted the familiar up to 23 pounds and went to 27.
- 6: 47 hits, 86 turns (55% +/-11%)
- 7: 70 hits, 145 turns (48% +/-8%)
- 8: 94 hits, 200 turns (47% +/-7%)
- 9: 135 hits, 265 turns (51% +/-6%)
- 10: 138 hits, 316 turns (44% +/-6%)
- 11: 188 hits, 366 turns (51% +/-5%)
- 12: 198 hits, 396 turns (50% +/-5%)
- 13: 257 hits, 506 turns (51% +/-4%)
- 14: 204 hits, 422 turns (48% +/-5%)
- 23: 245 hits, 540 turns (45% +/-4%)
- 24: 265 hits, 513 turns (52% +/-4%)
- 25: 286 hits, 592 turns (48% +/-4%)
- 26: 296 hits, 597 turns (50% +/-4%)
- 27: 278 hits, 622 turns (45% +/-4%)
A turn in a single round in combat.
Damage was consistent with lime damage.--Foggy 08:31, 21 February 2008 (CST)
The BUFF Function
Holy crap, this is powerful.
I did some testing with several different scenarios. First, to establish the formula:
- 20-lb Megadrone, Disco Bandit, muscle 466. Fought fluffy bunnies with a cool whip. Did 466-468 damage (not counting criticals) when unbuffed, 507-528 when buffed. Total increase: 41 to 60.
- 38-lb Megadrone, Disco bandit, muscle 420 (from 466). Used bar whip, tiny plastics, Leash, and Heavy Petting to boost weight. Did 420-422 damage when unbuffed, 497-535 when buffed. Total increase: 77 to 113.
The endpoints are hard to come by...one must hope that it's the lower or higher end of damage (25% chance), and while the buff appears evenly distributed, getting the maximum is still going to be only 5% at 20 pounds, making a 1.25% chance that you'll see that datapoint.
Criticals do not reflect a doubling of the buff increase: in the case of 38-pounds, what few crits I have ranged from 500 to 535. A doubling of the buff increase would result in a minimum of 574.
Finally, compared results of equipping a cool whip vs. a bill-bec whatever (power 150) against larval filthworms. The first scenario resulted in an average increase of 2.5 the weight of the familiar. so did the bil-bec-whatever. No apparent bonus for a more powerful weapon.
I should have frequency soon.--Foggy 15:58, 20 May 2008 (CDT)
BUILD function
I'm available to spade the BUILD function. Considering the outfit can give +100 pounds to what looks like a potato-type, it could potentially be invaluable in high level areas. The potato formula recieved a "minor nerf" according to Jick a few months ago. Anyone else interested?--Pepeson 17:08, 3 August 2008 (CDT)
