Talk:Damage Reduction
From TheKolWiki
It is not redundant. Damage Reduction is not the same as Damage Absorption; it's a new mechanic added with the Turtle Tamer skill and shield changes. —Yendor 23:01, 20 March 2006 (CST)
- Both Damage Reduction and Damage Absorption, their similar names could be easily befuddle people... *looks around*. Now all we need is Damage Reflection and we'll all be confuzzled. --JRSiebz (☎|§|‡) 23:29, 20 March 2006 (CST)
What somebody really oughta do is go in there and clean up Damage Absorbtion.
- Hmmm, anyone know if reduction is factored in before or after absorption? If its after, I wonder if its possible to eliminate enemy melee damage? --Rikmach 23:43, 25 March 2006 (CST)
- Since this question came to me also, I'm going to put it on the article itself. --Jonrock 17:34, 25 September 2006 (CDT)
NS and Damage Reduction
Anyone knows if this reduccion works against the Naughty Sorceress ? It seems that Absorcion de DaƱo dosn't, but this thing is different, ya know. I'm gonna try it, but I'm not yet lvl 11. --Fernando Bono 17:11, 7 June 2006 (CDT)
- I just ran about 10 runs with 4 diff combintations: Furry suit/no furry suit, shield/no shield. The results I got are odd, and need a bit more verification.
- With the furry suit, I had Moxie 34. I did two trials with shield, two without. Without the shield, I took either 6 or 7 damage each time. Without the shield, I took exactly 5 damage each time. It seems likely the shield was having some sort of effect.
- Without the furry suit, I had Moxie 104. The damage was a lot more variable, so I did 3 trials with shield/no shield. Without the shield, the min/max was 3/15, and the avg was 8.89. Without the shiled, the min/max was 3/15, and the avg was 8.88. This seems to indicate the shield doing nothing?
- So the answer seems to be, it depends? This requires more spading, and I'm right at the end of oxycore.--Starwed 17:19, 14 September 2006 (CDT)
Seriously Out of Date
There are many items on this page that no longer provide Damage Reduction -- or at least it's never clear how someone is getting DR figures.

- It would help if you'd point out which ones are wrong. As far as I can determine, everything on this listing page is consistent with the article for the specific item. Sometimes, magnitude spading is done on the talk: pages for the corresponding item. --Bagatelle 21:03, 7 May 2008 (CDT)
