Talk:Communications windchimes

From TheKolWiki

I used it once and it made 131 damage. Then I used it once more, and got this message:

A nearby hippy soldier sees you about to start ringing your windchimes, and says "No way, man. You're taking more than your share. We all have to get equal attention from HQ, because we're all equally special, man."

Then he takes your windchimes and wanders off. What a jerk!

Could it be once per fight, or is it a one-use item, and any uses after that take it away? DaemonStryker 13:43, 29 June 2007 (CDT)

Like the PADL, windchimes also restore MP, which is what I usually use it for (when I have very little MP left):

You bang out a series of chimes, and after a few seconds a homeopathic medic runs up to you and gives you an injection of carbonated soy milk. It stings a little bit, but you feel totally reinvigorated. You gain 192 Mojo Points.

I haven't tested very thoroughly, but it's not a one-use item. I have a hunch that someone else will take it away if you use the windchimes too many times within a certain number of adventures, or if you have enough MP/HP already. --Cysteine 09:14, 1 July 2007 (CDT)

Would it be worthwhile noting these are gained on the first adventure on the battlefield in War Hippy Fatigues, rather than just fighting against the hippies? --Monsieur 16:11, 18 July 2007 (CDT)

Waiting

I'm pretty sure the required waiting time is 5 adventures, not inclusive. For example, if you use it when you have 100 adventures left (I mean when you are in battle, and number next to last adventure link is 100; and when that battle ends the number will change to 99), then you can successfully use them again when you have 94 adventures left, but not 95. MOAR TESTING PLZ!--Knobula 11:46, 23 April 2008 (CDT)

  • I just used them when the number next to the last adventure link was 130, and then again when that number said 124, and I lost the windchimes. I haven't been keeping an exact count, but I'm almost sure I've used them successfully a number of times with that number of turns in between uses. Maybe there is some variance to the number of turns you have to wait.--Knobula 14:05, 28 April 2008 (CDT)

HP vs. MP

In my experience, if you have less than 25% HP and less than 25% MP, and use the windchimes, they will restore your HP. It could be randomized, but in my experience it has always been HP under these conditions.--Knobula 11:46, 23 April 2008 (CDT)

  • Right you are! There's an order of operations for how the windchimes work, identical to the PADL phones. I thought I copied it over a while ago, but apparently not. --TechSmurf 12:00, 23 April 2008 (CDT)
