Talk:Bonus Spell Damage

From TheKolWiki

NS13 update: big bad voodoo mask.

Can anyone confirm what abilities use bonus spell damage? Specifically:

Turtle Tamer: Headbutt

Seal Clubber: Thrust-smack type attacks

Disco Bandit: Eye-Poke type attacks

  • I don't think any of them do, as they're skills, but not spells. I believe just Pastamancer and Sauceror damage spells are boosted by this. The next skill that would make some sense to use this would be a Turtle Tamer's Spectral Snapper (because it looks somewhat like a spell), but I tested that, and it is not affected by Bonus Spell Damage. --Pcentella 11:50, 17 Sep 2005 (Central Daylight Time)

Thanks, Pcentella. That's surprising -- I didn't put Spectral Snapper on the list because I assumed automatically it would work... quite the shame. While you're at it, mind testing Headbutt? --Simnel, 10:03, 19 Sep 2005 (Jerusalem Standard Time)

  • I can't really test it, I'm an AT now. :-) And I don't think I'll be a TT again for about two months, at least. --Pcentella 14:27, 19 Sep 2005 (Central Daylight Time)

I've asked in different places and gotten different answers to this, so I figured I'd ask here, on the Home Of The Spades. Is Bonus Spell Damage linear or percentage-based? In other words, does having, e.g., +10 spell damage cause spells to do an extra 10 points of damage, or does it add 10% extra damage? - The Wrassedragon 07:47, 11 January 2007 (CST)

An extra 10 points of damage. --'Ivan 08:26, 11 January 2007 (CST)

I've noticed a message that seems to appear when I get ridiculous amounts of bonus spell damage. Right now my buffed myst is 140, I'm using a voodoo mask, a toothpick, baconstone pendant, Staff of the Grand Flambé, and a Codex, and my Minor Ray of Something hits for about 80 damage, without elemental modifiers. Now, at the end of my Ray of Something I get the following message: "You find it very difficult to control the Ray, and stuff sort of goes everywhere." I haven't noticed any effects so far, but it makes me wonder if there's like an upper bound to spell damage. More as I figure it out. My Saucegeyser deals about 300 damage with no added message, so I'm wondering if this is unique to the Minor Ray. Anybody care to confirm? --NoHassles 11:29, 18 July 2007 (CDT)

Oops. I'm sorry. Apparently this is unique to the Minor Ray. Sorry, should have checked first. --NoHassles 11:35, 18 July 2007 (CDT)
