Pathed HC lead-ins for Bad Moon currently yield only one consumable item rather than the normal three. NOTE: As of 4/4/08, the Dev Team believes this bug to be fixed. Please contact a Dev if you experience this bug after that date.

smoldering box
This is a scorched cardboard box, uncomfortably warm to the touch, and with wisps of smoke coming out from under the lid. It probably has some junk in it, but I wouldn't recommend putting your junk in it, even if you cut a hole in it first.

- When used out of Ronin/Hardcore:

| Just as you're reaching for the smoldering box to open it, it bursts into flames and burns away, revealing its contents. How handy!

- When reincarnating under a Bad Moon, ascension rewards are placed in this box to prevent them from being available for usage during the run.
- Cannot be opened while in Hardcore or Ronin.

- The description of this item is a reference to the Saturday Night Live Digital Short "Dick in a Box," in which the steps to giving your significant other a dick in a box as a gift are outlined: "Step 1: Cut a hole in a box. Step 2: Put your junk in that box. Step 3: Make her open the box."
