This is a little cluster of sweetbreads, the thymuses and pancreases of several creatures that were unfortunate enough to be absorbed into the Slime.
Given that these things are basically too disgusting to eat even when they're covered in fancy expensive French sauces, you can't even imagine how nasty they'd be covered in this slime.
