- Nepenthe is a mythological drug of forgetfulness, referred to heavily in historic and contemporary literature - in this context, most significantly in E.A. Poe's The Raven: "Quaff, oh quaff this kind nepenthe, and forget this lost Lenore!"
- The phrase "Two great tastes came together" may refer to the old phrase used in Reeses Peanut Butter Cups' commercials in the past, "Two great tastes that taste great together!". The "Commercial-worthy moment" part further supports this.
