Notes
- Occurs during O Cap'm, My Cap'm
- Map coordinates start at 1, not at 0: The map is drawn with the 10's filled in solidly, rather than as narrow lines, to address this potential problem.
- The absence of content beyond (long = 200) is due to the map being laid out using a visualisation tool that only extended to 200, rather than to 242 (source: 17th Dec radio show).
- The small tropical islands locations, read from the left in groups of 5-5-2-8-4-5-4-4-6, spell out the demon name "Ak'gyxoth", which can be used in the Summoning Chamber:-
References
- The arrow made up of rainbow pearl/sand locations is a reference to the "Rainbow Worlds" in Star Control 2. In a forum post, Jick stated "However, just like with the arrow in SC2, this one doesn't point to anything interesting."
History
- December 4, 2007: Logging of coordinates begins on the ocean's wiki talk page.
- December 5, 2007: Quietust launches his PHP map collaboration & visualisation tool, closely followed by Gemelli launching his. Data is shared between the two.
- December 6, 2007: Non-generic ocean adventures are found at a rate of knots.
- December 12, 2007: The tiki idol's moxie boost hits 43 and stops growing.
- December 14, 2007: El Vibrato combines the three triangles and opens up the plinth.
- December 17, 2007: The ocean is fully explored.
- August 8, 2008: Riff posts a hint to the remaining ocean puzzle, in the form of a circuit diagram: Puzzle Image (Warning: Very large!)
- August 9, 2008: The Emblem of Ak'gyxoth is discovered by Seventh, by decoding Riff's hint into the 9-digit number 552845446, and applying that to the tiki island layout.
