- In the book The Supernaturalist by Eoin Colfer, a similar device, a HALO, was used by the main characters. HALO meant High-Altitude Low-Orbit ship.
- The shape of the S.O.C.K. strongly resembles the Clown Copter aircraft Bowser first used in the game Super Mario World.
