  • The word "redrum" ("murder" spelled backwards), is written by Danny Torrance on the door of his family's room in the Overlook Hotel soon before his father, Jack Torrance, goes on a murderous rampage in an attempt to kill his wife and son.
  • The part in the description about not letting Mrs. Torrance see you drink it refers to Jack making a promise some years ago to never drink booze again.
