- Just as the name of the MagiMechTech MechaMech is an amalgamation parodying similar enemies in multiple RPGs, the name of this item combines photon torpedoes from the fictional Star Trek universe, proton torpedoes of Star Wars fame, and neutron torpedoes found in many space combat video games.
- The icon for the torpedo strongly resembles the Q-bomb from the movie The Mouse That Roared (and the book on which it's based). A picture (from the movie) of the Q-bomb itself can be seen at this review of the movie, at the bottom of the review.
