- "This perfume was made with no beets" is a reference to the novel Jitterbug Perfume by Tom Robbins. The perfect perfume made with beet pollen was strong enough to cover the goatstench of the god Pan, and sweet enough to create a euphoric state when smelled, and an obsession in the minds of several perfume makers.
