You stand for a moment and watch a couple snowboarders tear down the mountainside, hooting and cheering. "Harrumph," grumbles a voice next to you.
You turn and regard a hobo, his leg in a cast, leaning on a crutch. "Kids," he sneers. "What do these kids know about 'extreme'?"
"You're into extreme sports?"
"Extreme Hoboing ain't a sport, buddy, it's a way of life," he says. "I'd like to see one of those kids do a 720 Reverse Mulligan Stew while ollying into a speeding boxcar, or steal a pie off a windowsill while jumping out of a helicopter."
"And that's how you broke your leg?"
"Nah, I just fell off the chairlift. Wanna sign my cast?"
You do, and in the process learn several new hobo glyphs along the lines of "Get well soon!", which you note down in your binder.
