Combat Messages
  • Regular messages:
<Name> bumps into <it>, dealing X damage with his little poisonous spines.
Your opponent brushes up against <name> and gets poked by prickly needles for X damage.
  • After combat:
<name> floats lazily in front of you, blinking its single, malevolent eye.
  • With lucky Tam O'Shanter equipped:
<name> twirls the Tam O'Shanter on one of its spines, briefly covering its eye.
  • With miniature gravy-covered maypole equipped:
<name> floats rapidly around the Maypole, looking like a spiny tetherball.
  • With wax lips equipped:
<name> sticks the Wax Lips onto its spines. The overall effect is less than cheery.

Arena Message

  • When entered in a Scavenger Hunt:
<name> lacks the depth perception necessary to truly excel in a scavenger hunt.

Notes

  • After being attacked by the Mutant Cactus Bud, an enemy will be poisoned. Poison damage is 80% of the attack damage (rounded down) on the first round, and then is halved each subsequent round, unless the Mutant Cactus Bud attacks again. The opponent will take the damage with the message
Your opponent writhes as <it> takes X damage from the poison.
  • This familiar also does a small amount of passive damage when an opponent successfully attacks you.

References

  • The last line of the description is a variant on a classic bad wordplay joke where when someone says something ending with an "-er" sound (like "tractor") someone would reply "tract-'er? I hardly know her!". On rare occasions this is actually funny.
