Maximizing Your Item Drops
From TheKolWiki

The Hermit humbly requests that this page be rewritten or expanded
Needs to be rewritten to match the new dressing for success page.
There is also at least one omission from this item table.
Hoity Toity also needs to be added as it gives a 30% item drop increase.
Mmmmmelon needs to be added as it gives a 30% item drop increase.
Optimist Primal needs to be added to the familiar weight effects. Every +5 pounds helps.
The jumpsuited hound dog was recently spaded and confirmed to be better than the fairy familiars. Some of the columns should be updated to use the hound dog instead of a fairy.
Tuesday's ruby gives +5% item drops on Thursdays. This should be noted somewhere on the page as it's the only off-hand item that gives +item drops for players who can't double-fist and don't have access to Ultra-Rares. |

Item drop bonuses are useful if you are farming for moderately rare items or maybe even softcore speed ascending. This page shows the best equipment for each "classification" of player: Deity, Villa, Hardcore, Normal, and Apathetic Lizardman. Each classification has a variety of resources available to them as detailed here.
KoL Deity: Presumed to have access to every resource in the game, including ultra-rares and custom items. This classification represents the theoretical maximum.
Villa: Next to the Deity in ranking. This classification represents those long-time players who have collected many items, made a number of ascensions, and have a large pool of Meat to pull from. Every player in the game is capable of attaining Villa status.
Ascender: A player that is reasonably active and works to obtain the best items that they can. This player has probably ascended at least several times, and has probably purchased at least a few expensive items from the mall.
Casual: The basic KoL player, who either plays purely for fun, or who is fairly new to the game. Still, this player has made a decent effort to master the game and enhance their capabilities.
Apathetic Lizardman: Players who take a very casual approach to the game. Sacrilegious, isn't it?!
- Equipping the rice bowl increases food drops by 20%, while not affecting other item drops. It is recommended for Normal, Ascender, and Villa players when farming food.
- Equipping the Panhandle panhandling hat increases food drops by 30%, while not affecting other item drops. It is recommended for Normal, Ascender, and Villa players when farming food.
- Equipping the "WILL WORK FOR BOOZE" sign increases booze drops by 30%, while not affecting other item drops. It is recommended for Normal, Ascender, and Villa players when farming booze.
- Equipping the pilgrim shield increases weapon drops by 50%, while not affecting other item drops. It is recommended for Villa and KoL Deity players when farming weapons.
- Since you can only have one snowcone effect active at a time, the best possible tongue effect has been selected under the Maximum Item Buff Value guidelines.
- Since the amount of item drop bonus from the Jekyllin hide belt varies with the moonlight (from 15% to 55%), there are times when equipping Mr. Accessory Jrs. or Grimacite gorgets in their place would be more advantageous.
- The Jumpsuited Hound Dog acts as what is believed to be a 1.25 weighted fairy.
