- Attacks each round for at least 1 damage.
- Rather than giving +5 pounds, the targeting chip increases the chances of better attacks.
- The targeting chip increases the average damage per round by 2.25, as does a lead necklace. A +5 pound item would increase it by 3.75.
- Stomping damage ranges from floor(X/2)-5 to (X-5) where X is the weight of the familiar.
- Without a targeting chip, it occurs 70% of the time.
- With a targeting chip, it occurs 55% of the time.
- Laser damage ranges from floor(X/2) to X where X is the weight of the familiar.

- The description haiku starts out by mentioning the 1999 animated movie The Iron Giant. "Iron Giant" is also a monster type found in later Final Fantasy games.
- The name is a reference to Final Fantasy 6's Magitek Armors.
- "Kawaii" is Japanese for cute, and is a commonly used phrase among Western fans of Japanese culture.
- Mechs, or BattleMechs are War Machines in the popular board, or computer game MechWarrior
- The image is similar to the Daishi/Dire Wolf (Inner Sphere and Clan name, respectively) from MechWarrior, a 100 ton mech. It also bears a resemblance to the WarMech from the original Final Fantasy game.
- The Lucky Tam O' Shanter message could be a reference to the MechWarrior game, in which Jump Jets are Mech equipment that lets Mechs jump.
