Hilarious jokes about marriage aside, this is a big iron ball on a decent-sized length of rusty chain. It's not ten-leaf-clover lucky, but lucky in the sense that you're lucky to be hitting people with it rather than being hit by it. Just make sure to hold onto the chain, and your pride, when you throw the ball. Otherwise, someone's sure to take away, take away, take away your ball-and-chain.

- A ball and chain is a punishment handed out in NetHack for reading unidentified scrolls. One way of getting rid of problem objects in NetHack is to #dip them in a fountain. Unfortunately this does not work with balls or chains, and just results in whichever you dip going rusty.
