This is a rose is a rose is a rose. Sorry, the record player got stuck for a second there. Despite many recent innovations in the field of floral gift-giving, this remains the standard for opulent, sweet, and slightly boring gifts.
If you're too bored by it, you can always try calling it different names and see if it smells as sweet. I've found if you call it "Bartholomew," that really reduces the sweet-smelling factor.
