Lasers are a blast!

Lasers are a blast!
Lasers are a blast!

The death ray self-destructs, and the ensuing fire takes out the pear tree as well. You take a minute to catch your breath after the strenuous combat you just finished, and look around for where you should go next. There's a map on the wall, but a hive-mind map isn't very useful - it just says "WE ARE HERE," with a bunch of little flags all over the entire ship.

All of the doors leading out of this room are sealed, and you don't see any statues to push, torches to light, or switches to flip (after doing several dozen tricky jumps to get to them, of course). Since nothing else is attacking you, it looks like you're done for the day.

As you turn to leave, you see that the death ray's laser cannon still seems to be in one piece. You pick it up, but can't get it to fire. You dance around going "pew pew pew" for a while with it, but that's got limited entertainment potential.

As you exit, the entrance hatch seals shut behind you and the entire ship powers down. Looks like it's going into power-save mode for the night.

Occurs in A Sinister Dodecahedron after the first death ray in a pear tree.

Notes

  • The last paragraph only occurred on the first day of Crimbo.

References

  • References the movie Laserblast!, which featured a man finding a laser gun and then dancing around with it and making "Pew!" noises.
  • The part about the switches, statues and torches is a reference to the Legend of Zelda games or just about any platform game.
