Jicken Wings

The Beginning

On the 15th of May, 2005, PhilANThropiSt created a new clan which he called Wings of a Dove. Disillusioned and bored with his previous success, The Rye, he operated a strict recruitment policy whereby if you say no to an offer of joining, you can never change your mind. With this in mind his first acquisitions were Rushed Luncheon, previously of The Lolly Lickers' Finishing School, and Sambob182 of the Tainted Meat Alliance These founding members were given near-leadership priveledges, and enjoyed an evening of clan chat together. The next day, more was to be done.

Within 24 hours, PhilANThropiSt acquired a few more players. These included Cheese_Shoes, Smoove Mooth, and Syko (also given priviledges). Within three days the clan had PhilANThropiSt, Rushed Luncheon, Sambob182, Cheese_Shoes, Smoove Mooth, Syko, Echophantom, Capelli di angelo, Inari, Fembot Artyspants, Shayla, Ultimationismist, The Pain Train, Beatrix Kiddo, wiggleb0t, Strangerer, Widowmaker and SEBulba. From here on in, Wings of a Dove (or WoaD as it became known) continued to grow and bond for the next month. The clan was not interested in philanthropy, warfare, group projects or the elite. This clan was obviously about having fun, and the /clan chat was crazy for days. Over the next months of so, still pre-ascension, the clan spent a lot of time hanging out in chat and rafflebotting. Often taking large amounts of meat from clan members, rafflebot consumed a lot of time for many members. Even so, there were never any hard feelings and the members continued to enjoy themselves - often lending meat to one another.

On the 26th July, 2005, Jick joined the clan. Hanging out in chat every now and again, and gracing the clan with his presence, Jick also began to wear a Jicken Wings signature image on the forums. Whether he was merely visiting or joining for longer remained to be seen - though he was still a member as of 31st July.

... and for several more months. The filthy hippy eventually left the clan in the fall of 2005. mightybjorn (#688), the multi of Mr Skullhead (#13), is still in the clan and drops by from time to time. Those times being when AubriAnne harasses him enough.

Changing Face, Changing Name

One month after it was created, the time came for another show of spontenaity. Based on a suggestion by AubriAnne, the clan decided it would be renamed Jicken Wings, primarily to mess with people's heads, but also to have some fun! Within 24 hours it had estabilished a new home there. Most of the clan followed immediately or as soon as they logged on - a few did not, but this was regarded as unimportant. If they did not come, the clan reasoned, they were not active or devoted enough to matter. With this, the clan continued its reign of messing around and enjoying /clan.

On the 15th of July, two months after the creation of the clan, Philanthropist handed over leadership to Rushed Luncheon and left the clan. Within two days, on the 17th of July, Philanthropist announced his retirement from the game and handed over his account to Chubbles. Jicken Wings continued to be led by Rushed Luncheon, though disheartened, and ensured that Philanthropist knew he would always be welcomed back if he returned to the game.

Clan Events

Before the days of clan whitelisting, party clans were a popular way to hang out with people from various clans. In early August, 2005, Jicken Wings hosted the Flamegrilled Jickenfest 2005. More than 100 chatters from clans big and small were invited, many of whom showed up for the party. We even kept a few of them for good measure (details below).

Based on the success of the Jickenfest, the clan planned another party for Halloween 2005. This was going to be a huge event, even bigger than before. ePeterso2 and Hojo Hominygrits compiled a large selection of Halloween-themed music which was to be streamed (and mirrored) throughout the duration of the event. Unfortunately, the evening of October 25, 2005 will forever be known as "White Wednesday", or "The Day Jick Deleted the Kingdom". Although the game was back online in time for Halloween, the clan decided that a party was not appropriate at that time and the idea was shelved.

Major Members

Philanthropist (#43536) Founder and well-loved player famous for his humour, flaming, and personality.

Rushed Luncheon (#344586) A founding member with leadership rights throughout, he is known for his bad choice of recruits. He was given clan leadership after Philanthropist's departure from the game. Has since left for Noblesse Oblige and left a multi in his place. Handed over Leadership to Soulcake.

Soulcake (#411009) Picked up from /normal, she quickly became a well loved member of the clan with leader priviledges. When Philanthropist left briefly to visit Lothlorien, Soulcake was given clan leadership until his return. Soulcake remained leader of Jicken Wings until the Summer of 2006, when real life events prompted her to turn over leadership to ePeterso2.

v_a (#166848) A much loved early speed ascender, he went hardcore after obtaining his softcore XI+ tattoo and never looked back. From his joining the clan v_a became a favourite member and gained a lot of trust.

AubriAnne (#256156) A forum moderator for the Ring of Flame and an awesome lounger, Aubri joined the clan in the early days and has stuck with it throughout.

SEBulba (#72914) Noted power-gamer found throughout the lifetime power and basement leaderboards. As noted above, one of the original WoaD members.

MiNiZ (#416135) Brought on by Philanthropist for reasons unknown, we are still not sure who MiNiZ is...

SaskiaSalsoul (#306732) Radio KoL DJ and co-organizer of KoLondon in December 2005. Currently a member of The Blues.

Jinya (#137679) Creator of this very Wiki and long-time member of /villa.

Thraeryn (#144429) Co-creator of the KoL Wiki and long-time member of /villa, Thrae does his best to add an extra element of lechery to an already lewd clan.

Hojo Hominygrits (#196078) Notable PvPer and drunken hayseed. His frequent posting of the "out of adventures" frowny face in /pvp ultimately led to it's inclusion on the PvP page when you run out of fights.

ePeterso2 (#282376) Long-time participant in the /haiku channel, he is the steward of Haiku Oracle (#464776), a bot account based on Fnord7's chatbot code. eP (as he is known far and wide) has also hosted Halloween and Christmas music streams for the clan and the general community. eP has also also created the hugely popular Display Case Database. He is also the current clan leader.

Pakalolo (#290410) Paka was invited to the Flamegrilled Jickenfest 2005. We liked her so much, we kept her :) Paka was in a previous clan (that shall remain nameless) with Hojo and ePeterso2.

Benderama (#201729) Collector of ice-cold foties, even though they will never show up on the leaderboards. NOT "Bender the Robot"

Fembot Artsypants (#201623) Noted socialite, both in chat and at player meets. Femmy, as she is often known, is a current member of The Blues, but visits frequently.

Ultimationismist (#83701) Co-creator of the KoL magazine Syphilis, creator of many Multis and leader of too many clans such as The Courtyard. Mocks and insults regularly using his own drawn images. Has also left several times and still never been barred from returning.

ThaBeave (#145480) On-again, off-again, on-again...(you get the idea)... member. Finally pinned down by Soulcake. ThaBeave is famous (or possibly infamous) for buying and distributing several dozen 'Villa' documents to various chatters in 2005. Rejoined Tainted Meat Alliance in Spring of 2006.
