- A bit of a stretch, perhaps, but Hodgman is explicitly named after John Hodgman, who portrays the PC (opposite Justin Long's Mac) in the Get a Mac advertising campaign for Macintosh computers. "Leopard" is the release name for the version of Mac OS X that was current at the time Hobopolis became available. The rivalry between the two computers is such that you would not, in fact, figure the PC for a "Leopard"-print guy.
