Hardcore Checklist (Condensed)

If you've already done a handful of ascensions, you'll find that the hardcore checklist is cluttered with obvious information. This page is aimed at intermediate to advanced ascenders; it is a condensed version of the checklist and does not contain any council quest items. This way, if you have finished the quest for your particular level, finding the things you need to backfarm is much simpler.

If you like, you can copy the entire table into a blank word document and erase things as you progress through your ascension for easy backfarming reference.

Tasks will be listed at the earliest possible level they can be accomplished, even if it may not normally be feasible to do so at that level.

There are a few things that the checklist does not take into account.

• The checklist assumes you are doing the island war as a frat boy, since is it arguably faster for speed ascensions. If you plan to fight as a hippy, simply do not get the frat outfit.
• The Infiltrationist equipment: Most speed ascenders do the island war as a frat boy, so passing this adventure isn't an issue. If you do the war as a hippy, it is possible to still do the 2nd or 3rd path without devoting any additional adventures to it.
  • Muscle signs have it easy; they can buy the frilly skirt and (under normal circumstances) will always have 3 spare hot wings.
  • Other signs, if not lucky enough to get a 2nd frilly skirt while farming the meatcar, usually boost non-combats while farming the wet stew components to get the mullet wig. And if a briefcase doesn't drop while farming sonars-in-a-biscuit, you can always boost item drops while doing the The Hidden City.
• The first NS instrument (guitar/banjo): Be aware where the different guitars drop and boost your item drops accordingly. If you are not lucky enough to have a guitar drop during the course of your ascension, you can easily create a stone banjo in only a few turns.
• The third NS instrument (tambourine/rattle/drum): Most of the time you should simply get a broken skull while farming your sonars-in-a-biscuit, but if not, be aware where the different drums drop and boost your item drops accordingly.
• The NS gate and NS tower items: Unless you have a telescope, it is unlikely that you would choose to farm these items over leveling up, since there is no way to know which ones in particular you are going to need. That said, it is beneficial to know the locations in which they drop so that when you adventure there you can boost your item drops in the chance that you will need that particular item later. A great example of this is The Hidden City.
