Fumble
From TheKolWiki
[edit] Fumble!
During battle, when you attack simply with your weapon - that is, without using a skill or Moxious Maneuver - you suffer a risk that is normally 1 in 22 of fumbling your weapon. When you fumble your weapon, you deal some damage to yourself, and your opponent almost always hits with its attack. You can do anything from 1 damage, up to 10% of your weapon's power.
Fumbles can take the following form:
- FUMBLE! You drop your <weapon name> on your <leg>.
If you have the Seal Clubber skill Double-Fisted Skull Smashing and you are wielding two weapons, you'll fumble both of them simultaneously:
- FUMBLE! You drop your <weapon name> and your <weapon name> on your <arm>.
Fumbling without a weapon equipped is possible; it looks like this:
- FUMBLE! You drop your <forehead/fist/feet> on your <forehead>.
Or like this:
- FUMBLE! You drop your forehead and/or fist and/or feet on your <forehead>.
Fumbles defy most laws of physics, but they don't happen more frequently when one has a greater level of drunkenness.
For a comprehensive list of everything in the game that provides a reduced chance of fumbling, see Fumble Chance.
With the Clockwork Apparatus equipped, fumbles are changed to have benefical effects such as healing you or damaging your opponent.
[edit] Monster Fumbles
Monsters can fumble too -- but a monster fumble doesn't cause it any damage; it just fails to hit when it otherwise could have. Word on the street is that monster fumbles, like monster critical hits, occur with a 1/22 (4.5%) chance per round.
