- Dispepsi is an album by the band Negativland, a purported favorite of Jick's. The misspelling was to avoid legal action, and the title appears nowhere on the album itself.
- Dyspepsi-Cola references the illness dyspepsia, defined as a constant stomach pain.
- The stomach explosion is a reference to the myth that soda, when taken with Pop Rocks, will produce enough gas to cause the stomach to explode.
- This is also a reference to Pepsi Cola, particularly the description about them being one of two majors fighting in the KoL Cola Wars (à la Pepsi Cola versus Coca Cola).
