Defend the Gourd Quest

Description

Visit The Gourd Tower at the right side of the tracks, and the Captain of the Gourd will ask you for some items to help to defend the gourd.

Tasks

• The Captain of the Gourd wants some items which depend on your class:

• Seal Clubbers and Turtle Tamers must collect Knob Goblin firecrackers from the Outskirts of Cobb's Knob.
• Pastamancers and Saucerors must collect razor-sharp can lids from The Haunted Pantry.
• Disco Bandits and Accordion Thieves must collect spider webs from The Sleazy Back Alley.

• Initially, the Captain wants just 5 items.

• Adventure for the items and bring them to the Captain for your gourd potion reward.

• Unlike other quests, the Defend the Gourd Quest can be repeated.

• However, the number of items that the Captain wants increases by 1 each time. So, the second time you do the quest, the Captain wants 6 items, the third time the Captain wants 7 items, and so on. (see table below)
• Each time you accumulate the required number of items and bring them to the Captain, you will receive the gourd potion reward.

• The quest can be done a total of 21 times (for a grand total of 315 items).

• When you bring the Captain the 21st batch of items (25 items), you will receive your final gourd potion.

• If you are in hardcore while doing so, you also qualify for the Gourdcore trophy.

• Possibly qualify for the Gourdcore trophy (After 21 completions and if hardcore - see above and Notes below)

• Before bringing the Captain 21 batches of items:

You climb to the top of the Gourd Tower and encounter a twitchy man standing next to a huge gourd.

I'm... I'm... urk the Captain," says the man, "the Captain... eep... of the Gourd. It is my sworn... my sworn... erp... duty. To protect the gourd, that is."

It's clear that in addition to being next to it, the man is clearly out of his gourd.

• Muscle Classes:

"You can... hurk... help! Help!" he continues. "Goblins! Goblins threaten the gourd! Slay them! Seek them out in... glerp... out in... urp... The... eep Outskirts of... of... glurk Cobb's Knob. Bring back X of their... erp... firecrackers, and you'll be... be... gurk... rewarded!"

• Mysticality Classes:

"You can... hurk... help! Help!" he continues. "Tin Cans! Tin Cans threaten the gourd! Slay them! Seek them out in... glerp... out in... urp... The... eep Haunted... Haunted glurk Pantry. Bring back X of their... erp... lids, and you'll be... be... gurk... rewarded!"

• Moxie Classes:

"You can... hurk... help! Help!" he continues. "Spiders! Spiders threaten the gourd! Slay them! Seek them out in... glerp... out in... urp... The Sleazy... eep... Back... glurk... Back Alley. Bring back X of their... erp... webs, and you'll be... be... gurk... rewarded!"

Note: X starts at 5 and increments by 1 each time you do the quest, to a maximum of 25.

• Captain's thanks for having received a batch of items:

"Great... erk... Great!" says the Captain of the Gourd. "Here. Take... urk take this as a... a... a reward.

• If you have qualified for the Gourdcore trophy, the trophy must be purchased before you free the king and hardcore restrictions have been lifted.
