A plural is the text the game displays for an item in certain situations, for instance:

alpha-mail pants

You acquire 2 alpha-mail pantses, preciousss

This category lists items whose plural forms are not known.

The following methods can be used to determine the plural form of an item, by classification of item properties:

• Any item that you have 2 or more of:
  • Type "/count (item)" in chat.
• Any item that someone has 2 or more of in the Display Case:
  • Update PLAYERID and ITEMID on the following link (be extra careful with caps and typos - you can't copy-paste the plural with this method!):

• Tradeable items:
  • Buy 2 at once from The Mall of Loathing
  • Have at least one in your inventory, then attempt to put more than you have into your Mall store
  • Insert or remove 2 at once into/from your Clan Stash
  • Receive 2 of the item at once via a single K-mail (from another player or from yourself)
  • Example: nearly every item in the game
• Sellable items:
  • Autosell 2 of the item at once
  • Example: misshapen animal skeleton
• Spleen items (sometimes):
  • Use one when your spleen is full. Only valid if the message begins with "Too many" (rather than "Too much", which uses the singular form).
  • Example: enchanted leopard-print barbell
• Equippable items (not from Mr. Store):
  • Pulverize 2 of the item at once
  • Example: Boss Bat britches
• Free pulls from Hagnk's:
  • Pull 2 of the item at once for free from Hagnk's Ancestral Mini-Storage
  • Example: brick
• Items which can be made in bulk via recipes (meat paste, cooking, cocktailcrafting, supertinkering, etc.):
  • Combine ingredients to create 2 of the item at once
  • Example: badass belt, grue egg omelette
• Items which can be combined using meat paste into a new item:
  • Combine the ingredients into 2 of the result item, then untinker all of them at once
  • Example: batskin belt, dragonbone belt buckle
• Untradeable items in NPC stores:
  • Buy 2 of the item at once
  • Example: Medicinal Herb's medicinal herbs, magical mystery juice, Mr. Exploiter
• Usable items:
  • Type "/use? 2 (item)" in chat.
• Booze and beverages:
  • Type "/drink? 2 (item)" in chat.
• Foods:
  • Type "/eat? 2 (item)" in chat.
• Meat-Pasting Discoveries:
  • Type "/paste? 2 (item)" in chat, only if you've already discovered the recipe
• Meatsmithing Discoveries:
  • Type "/smith? 2 (item)" in chat, only if you've already discovered the recipe
• Cocktailcrafting Discoveries:
  • Type "/mix? 2 (item)" in chat, only if you've already discovered the recipe
• Cooking Discoveries:
  • Type "/cook? 2 (item)" in chat, only if you've already discovered the recipe
• Jewelry Discoveries:
  • Type "/ply? 2 (item)" in chat, only if you've already discovered the recipe
• Any item:
  • Get a non-combat adventure that drops 2 (or more) of the item in a single line
  • Obtain two of the item at once by some other means
  • Example: astronaut ice-cream (by stargazing 200 or more adventures before they were implemented)
• Any item which has been marked "public" (i.e. nearly every item):
  • Let epeterso2 or Fryguy9 look it up in the Display Case Database item table dump.

The following methods can not be used to determine the plural form of an item:

• Remove 2 or more of the item from Hagnk's Ancestral Mini-Storage as a non-free item pull
• Move 2 or more of the item between your Display Case and your inventory
• Move 2 or more of the item between Your Colossal Closet and your inventory

When inserting the plural form of an item into a metadata page, make sure it is capitalized exactly as you saw it in-game!

If an item's plural form cannot possibly be determined by normal means, set its plural form to an exclamation point (!) in the metadata page - it will be listed here instead.
