Notes
- In real life, drinking any substantial quantity of typical antifreeze (ethylene glycol) will kill an adult human if not treated within 8-12 hours. The same enzymes that break down ethanol (booze) into acetic acid will metabolize antifreeze into glycolic acid, a relatively strong acid that will lower the blood pH considerably, leading to metabolic acidosis and death from ensuing respiratory failure. The glycolic acid will subsequently be metabolized into oxalic acid which bonds to the calcium ions and deposits calcium oxalate in the kidneys and heart.
