  • In NetHack, large boxes may be blessed like any other item, but with no effect.
  • If you log in to NetHack during a Full Moon, the game greets you with "You are lucky! Full moon tonight." A New Moon gives the warning "Be careful! New moon tonight."
  • Before this item was implemented, players interested in softcore speed ascension would often pull many large boxen each run without finding the specific potion they were looking for. This particular bit of RNG could kill a run on its own, and many players requested a change to prevent that. This item was the answer, and the second line of the description refers to that particular...brouhaha.
