- This is a reference to the famous book, Also Sprach Zarathustra, by Friedrich Nietzsche. (The title is German for "Thus Spoke Zarathustra".) The name of the effect can be roughly translated as "Thus Tastes Zarathustra".
- The Best Meal of My Life trophy has a similar reference, because its file name is "also_ate_zarathustra.gif".
