Effects are temporary, er, effects which can be acquired by a variety of means. Some items and skills will give you temporary positive effects, and some monsters and traps will give you temporary negative effects.

The number in parentheses next to the effect in the character pane shows the number of adventures the effect will last.

Some items are enchanted to give you intrinsic effects, which do not go away until you unequip the item. These effects are shown with an infinity sign next to them.

* The ! potions (found in the Dungeon of Doom) have different effects for different people, and on different ascension. These potions are: bubbly potion, cloudy potion, dark potion, drab potion, effervescent potion, fizzy potion, milky potion, murky potion, smoky potion, and swirly potion.

Also, Yummy Tummy Beans and Marzipan Skulls can also give a lot of different effects randomly, but I have not included them in this list, for fear of cluttering it up too much
